Celebrating National Coloring Book Day

Dream in colors never seen before. Be creative.

It’s National Coloring Book Day, and as an organization that place artists as the heart of our community we’re excited to share special coloring pages we created for both children and adults. Coloring has always been a popular activity for children, but over the past few years, it’s become popular amongst adults as well. Coloring books have been around since the late 1800’s, offering a fun and easy way for everyone to become artists.

For children, coloring is a great way to improve motor and attention skills, while for adults, it’s a stress reliever and an awesome self-care tool. According to studies, it allows your brain to experience relief by entering a meditative state. Coloring allows us to push other thoughts out of our head so we can focus on the task at hand.

Coloring is also a form of art therapy. It seemed only natural that the 14Y, which is committed to the development of the whole person and bettering people’s lives, celebrate this special day by sharing a fun way to help our diverse community find some stress relief!

Don’t forget to check out our new Fall 2018 catalog, which includes other fun activities and a special coloring page!
