Community Forum: #14YMobilize
Looking to take action to support immigrant, migrant, and refugee families?
Don’t miss the second #14YMobilize Community Forum at the 14th Street Y.
Join us on Wednesday, August 8 from 6:30 – 8:00 PM
We’re gathering as a community to express our deep concerns regarding the “zero-tolerance” immigration policy, their implications to asylum-seeking families at our borders, and to find ways to help those families who’ve been torn apart.
Together, let us address how policies like these impact our families, our community, and our nation—and find meaningful ways to help asylum-seeking families in NYC, across the country, and at our borders.
AGENDA:
- Information and thoughts from our community leaders, including Rabbi Shira Koch Epstein, Executive Director of the 14th Street Y
- Report back from our #14YMobilize Group Leaders
- Break out sessions that will include finding ways to support organizations such as International Rescue Committee, and drafting letters of supports to important bills that impact immigrant families in NYC
- Networking and conversation among your diverse downtown community
Refreshments and snacks will be served. Due to limited capacity, please RSVP.
This event is FREE and OPEN TO ALL.
