Edward Gia (b. 1998) is a first-generation Latin-American artist born and based in New York, NY. Their work is an investigation of their identity as a queer person within heteronormative spaces. Through the snapshot aesthetic, there is a sense of nostalgia that is evoked through their approach to portraiture and the documentation of the spaces they are in, allowing them to explore the underlying themes of immigration, religion, memory, and generational bonds.
