Blue Man to Bob Ross
14Y Gallery Showing & Conversation with Artist Wes Day
Thursday, August 3 | 7:00 – 9:30 PM
Join Blue Man Wes Day as he shares some of his personal 25-year history with Blue Man Group and his long-standing love of Bob Ross.
This gallery opening will feature a series of his art highlighting two distinctive styles, as well as engaging conversation with Day as he illustrates how much these seemingly disparate organizations have in common, including how both organizations have not only impacted his personal artistry, but also inspired millions of people to embrace their own happy accidents and give themselves permission to try new creative forms of self-expression. Come learn how the ethos of Blue Man Group and the philosophies of Bob Ross intersect and inspire in surprisingly joyful ways.
Light snacks and refreshments will be served.
About Day’s Work
Day uses a variety of acrylic pouring techniques including his own unique spin art wheel, pendulum swings and various gravity art techniques to create satisfyingly expressive and colorful action art lightly reminiscent of his Blue Man experience.
He’s also certified in the Bob Ross Wet on Wet Technique and will be sharing a number of his landscape oil paintings juxtaposed to his other work on display.
On occasion, he combines both his Bob Ross and Blue Man-inspired techniques to create something truly unique.

Blue Man Group began as a small Off-Broadway show featuring a never-before-seen combination of music, color and non-verbal humor delivered via three bald and literally blue men. Against all odds, the show expanded and grew to be an international juggernaut, still playing theatres around the world for three decades and counting. Bob Ross began as a painting instructor in Alaska, and with his PBS show, The Joy of Painting, reached millions of homes with his soothing voice and encouraging spirit. Bob Ross Inc continues to garner new fans of all ages to this day.
