Join artist Sally Apfelbaum for a series of photography workshops designed for beginners and people looking for ways to enliven their photos, using a smartphone or camera. Some topics we’ll consider include composition, angle of view, available light, nature in New York City. Explore outdoor locations in the East Village, share your work and receive feedback along the way. Topics covered in the first class:
Angle of view
Light and Shadow
Framing
Camera distance
Motion
Focus

A brief overview of composition and techniques for photographing our surroundings. Class time includes going over basic principles of composition and walking to several nearby outdoor sites to photograph, where we’ll try out our new techniques and perspectives. We’ll start with a trip to the rooftop at the Y!
