The 14Y After School program engages heads, hands, and hearts for children in Kindergarten – 5th Grade.
Rest easy knowing your child’s afternoon is engaging, and fun until 6:00 PM—all in a safe and supportive environment. 14Y After School is open to all needs and abilities.
Registration for the 2024 – 2025 School year opened Monday, June 3, 2024!
Fall Semester: September 16 – January 24
Spring Semester: January 27 – June 4
Enrollment options are available from 1 to 5 days per week.
About the 14Y After School Program
Each afternoon includes homework help and a healthy snack, as well as classes that enrich heads, hearts, and hands.
Our signature enrichment classes are taught by our specially trained counselors and professional teaching artists. Age-appropriate classes include Photography, Chess, Acrobatics, Crafting, Mad Science, Ballet, Cooking, Swim, Martial Arts, Musical Theater, Basketball, Jewelry Making, Zoology, and much more. In addition to our current offerings, After Schoolers have access to all 14Y programming at discounted rates such as Aquatics programs.
Tuition for the 14Y After School program includes transportation from local neighborhood schools. Our flexible registration allows families to pick one to five days of After School each week.
Scholarships are available on a limited basis.
2024–2025 After School Calendar
Inclusion at 14Y After School
Our 14Y After School Program is open to Kindergarteners through 5th graders of all needs and abilities.
Supported enrollments are available for both neurotypical and neurodivergent students, with or without diagnoses such as Autism Spectrum Disorder, ADD/ADHD, and other disabilities, as well as sensory, behavioral, and other mental health needs.
At the beginning of the school year, families of supported students meet with our Support Team to create ISPs (Individualized Support Plans) that allow them to thrive in a supported recreational environment. Children with ISPs are fully integrated into 14Y After School – all of our Group Leaders and Teachers are trained in inclusive best practices to ensure all children are able to participate fully in our program.
We also have wonderful associate’s, bachelor’s, and master’s level social work interns who are there to offer socio-emotional support throughout the afternoon.
Supported enrollments are limited.
Please note that we cannot offer one-on-one support services at this time.

Closure dates for 14Y After School are subject to change.
Also note that tuition rates are reflective of anticipated holidays.
14Y After School offers a wide range of enrichment classes to engage hearts, hands, and minds every day.
A quarterly schedule of classes includes theater play, sports, arts and crafts, and homework room.
Additional enrichment classes such as cooking and jewelry making will also be available for a small fee to help offset the cost of materials.
14Y After School families can also register for specialty classes such as Soccer, Tennis, Ballet, and Swimming at discounted rates.
We also partner with Chickenshed NYC, an inclusive theatre company for children and teens. After Schoolers can participate in their Chickenshed Players (CP) program that features theatrical workshops where the participants are led by professional theatre practitioners to create and devise the productions they perform. Each After Schooler will need to submit an up-to-date medical form filled out by your child’s pediatrician, dated within one year. We do not accept religious exemptions, and all students must be fully immunized.

Payment Plans
Flexible payment plans are available upon checkout on CampSite. A minimum of 10% of your total registration is due in order to complete enrollment.
Please note that After School enrollment tuition payments made with a credit card will incur a 3% transaction fee.
Financial Assistance
Financial assistance for the 2024 – 2025 school year will be available once registration is open. Please select the “Financial Aid” payment option at check out, and follow additional instructions to fill out the form on the Parent Dashboard. The deadline to apply for financial aid is July 31st, 2024.
We accept Self-Direction, ACS, and HRA Vouchers.

After School Group Leaders
Our After School group leaders and teachers are wonderful members of our community. Group leaders are college-aged and studying in fields of education or social sciences with a passion for working with children. Each school pickup and After School homeroom is staffed with a group leader(s) ready to safely walk from your child’s school to the 14Y, where they’ll get settled, support your child with their homework, and enjoy a healthy snack.
Our Enrichment Classes are taught by group leaders and talented teachers who share their expertise with our After Schoolers. Our group leaders share their passions from hip hop karaoke to basketball, while our teachers guide children in the art of book making, ballet, martial arts, and more!
For the 2024 – 2025 School year we will continue to offer a pick up at Success Academy, Union Square (SAUS) at their new dismissal time of 4:20pm and Wednesdays at 12:30 pm.
Success Academy enrollment options are limited to 5-day Monday-Friday or Wednesday only.
SAUS After Schoolers will enjoy a period of enrichment programming, snack, homework room, and a new dismissal between 6:00 pm – 6:20 pm.

We understand that situations may occur when you must change your child’s enrollment. Please note the following:
The 14th Street Y is not responsible for providing make-ups or issuing refunds for missed sessions because of scheduling conflicts or other events beyond our control.
Flexible enrollments are offered. Days may be added to an enrollment pending availability at any time at a prorated additional cost. Beginning August 1, 2024, there is a $100 drop-day fee for each time you reduce the number of days enrolled. The remaining tuition will be prorated (if applicable) to the new tuition rate after the drop-day fee is applied.
To cancel your child’s enrollment, a request must be submitted in writing and approved by the After School team. Cancellation fees are as follows:
Written cancellation request submitted before the 15th of the month will be subject to a cancelation fee of 10% of your total tuition, and all remaining payments will be canceled.
Written cancellations submitted after the 15th of the month will result in the following months’ installment being charged, as well as the 10% cancelation fee. Students will be unenrolled from the program at the end of the month of the cancellation request.
Flexible payment plan schedules are offered. If the balance has been paid in full at the time of the cancellation request, a prorated refund will be issued save the cancellation fee and the following month’s payment (if applicable).
10% deposits due at registration are non-refundable.
If the 14Y cancels any portion of after school, a credit for future 14Y programming will be issued.
Trial days are offered for a $45 trial fee.
The fee must be paid before your child attends the trial. If the trial results in an enrollment in our program, the $45 fee will be applied to your tuition.
